Kids Art Exhibition

A Record-Breaking Celebration of Young Art and Community Spirit!

What an incredible week it has been! The dust has finally settled on YorKAOS 2026, and we are thrilled to share the final results of our “creative chaos” at SPARK:York during the February half-term.

From the moment the doors opened, the atmosphere was electric. We were joined by families, local art lovers, and even the airwaves, as we broadcast live on the radio with BBC Radio York!

The Impact in Numbers

Thanks to your overwhelming support, this year’s exhibition was our biggest and most successful yet:

  • 💰 £2,150 raised in total.
  • 🖼️ 127 original pieces of artwork sold.
  • 👥 Over 600 visitors joined us throughout the week.

Creative Workshops

Beyond the gallery walls, the exhibition hosted a series of sold-out workshops led by professional Yorkshire artists. Young attendees had the rare opportunity to learn printmaking from Stephen Lee Hodgkins, B-movie monster drawing from Lincoln Lightfoot, storytelling illustration from acclaimed author Emily Sutton and Musically lead interpretive art from Beth Elsdon.

Supporting Our Community

YorKAOS was founded on the idea of kids helping kids. Because of the incredible sales made during the show, we are donating £430 to each of our five chosen charities.

A Final Thank You

This event wouldn’t have been possible without the hard work of our young committee — Ada, Seth, Ellie, Olive and Mabel from last year’s committee — and the support of our sponsors like the Elmet Lions and York Rotary.

Most importantly, thank you to the hundreds of young artists who submitted their work. You proved that York is a city filled with talent, and we can’t wait to do it all again.
